3 Reasons You Might Never Make Money as a Blogger

I have been blogging for almost 2 years now and it took me almost a year to make a cent from my hard work. Things were really frustrating then but I made up my mind never to give up until I start to get results.

One thing I observed from me not making money as a blogger for a long period of time is that I made a lot of mistakes and I see as lot of bloggers doing the same nowadays, this blog post will be addressing some of the three top reasons why I was unable to make money online for the first 8 months of me blogging and I hope other bloggers who read it can learn a thing or two from it.

1. You’re Substituting Your Content for Money
One thing I came to learn about blogging is that the blogging world is very unique and different and that you need to give a lot of great info away for free before you start reaping the rewards. It will be a very dangerous mistake for you to neglect the importance of writing great content because the quality of your content should never be substituted for anything as a blogger.

I make the bulk of my income by writing for others, and the major reason for this isn’t because my blog is popular but because I wrote a lot of free guest posts for others while at the same time explaining how I’m doing it on my blog. Eventually my client saw how hardworking I was and then decided I’d be the best fit for his work.

The real secret to making money blogging is giving value, nothing else! Stop looking for ways to make quick cash without doing anything, start focusing on giving more value and you’ll be amazed at how fast you’ll start getting results.

2. You’re Afraid of Making Money
Yes, I was affected by this a lot but I’m starting to get over it gradually.
One thing you need to realize as a blogger is that you won’t make money alone by writing great content, you need to create plans that can help you make money from your blogging efforts. Some of the best ways to make money blogging are either by creating your own product, promoting affiliate products and offering your services. Don’t be afraid to review affiliate products on your blog because of what people will think, don’t be afraid to launch your own product because you think people won’t buy it, and don’t be afraid to ask for clients because you think they won’t come. Even if you don’t get much results, it is at least still worth the try.
Give enough value to your readers and when it is time to make money do it boldly and happily. You will be glad you did it.

3. You’re Expecting Overnight Success
As a blogger you need to realize that there is nothing called overnight success. You won’t just make money by sleeping, you will only make money from your hardwork.

A lot of bloggers who fail only fail because they don’t achieve what they are expecting at the time they are expecting it. You need to realize that it takes time to make money as a blogger and you won’t get results just by setting up a product page and expecting people to buy. Success takes time! The sooner you realize this the faster you will start making money.
